Softbank-backed Meesho, the fastest growing e-commerce platform in India has announced its flagship festive sale event Meesho Sale 2022. Going by the name “Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale”, the event will run for five consecutive days from 23rd September to 27th September, 2022. The company is looking forward to boosting the access and affordability of the country’s heterogeneous customer base.
Through this Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale, the Indian brand aims to boost its discoverability of the widest categories to consumers at the lowest prices possible. Last year, the five-day sale saw approximately 60% of orders coming from tier 4+ regions. Thus, this year it has introduced eight new vernacular languages on the Meesho app, viz., Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, and Telugu. The company aims to potentially reach 350 million users in these regions through the Meesho seller gang.
In the past two years, Meesho sellers have seen an 82% surge in their businesses. During the festive season, the company is looking forward to educating as well as working closely with the sellers on several aspects of business such as order volume management and demand forecasting. Thus, they have also created a huge training program on the Supplier Learning Hub. Additionally, educational infographics have been created alongside easy-to-understand videos on best practices for the Meesho Mega Sale event and the selection of catalogs. This will also help the company gain 4x more small business participation with a whopping Meesho seller gain in comparison to the previous year.

The most prominent celebrities that will spread awareness about the value propositions of the company in Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale include Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Rohit Sharma, Rashmika Mandanna, Kapil Sharma, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi Sivakumar, Ram Charan, and Sourav Ganguly. All of these celebrities are going to represent their own state performing to be sellers in various categories. Through this, the company aims to build local relevance with the customers pan India.
