Flipkart, a popular e-commerce company, is set to launch three giant automated fulfilment centers in the next three years. These Flipkart automated fulfilment centers are being worked on by the Walmart-owned company and are going to utilise about ₹3,600 crore funds in the coming years. The Flipkart fulfilment center locations include one that is being worked on in Manesar and the other two are set to be established in West and South Bengal.
Flipkart Automated Fulfilment Centers To Scale-up Deliveries
The e-commerce company mentioned that they are looking forward to launching a giant automated fulfilment center in Haringhata, West Bengal, which would be the largest such facility in Asia. Meanwhile, it noted that the one in Manesar will be operational by 2024.
Hemant Badri, the SVP and Head of Supply Chain in the company stated that the Flipkart automated fulfilment centers will have about double the storage capacity of normal such centers. In addition, they will provide about 30% to 50% more efficiency that too with low operating costs and capital investment. This will, in turn, reduce the Flipkart delivery time considerably. He added by saying that the shipment time will be curbed by large. Due to these Flipkart automated fulfilment centers, it is estimated that one-day delivery can be made in half a day. Moreover, the two-day deliveries can be made in about a day, and the ones that would take four days could be made in three days.
