1. Elvis

Starting with the movies at Cannes 2022, we cannot miss this. Baz Luhrmann again gets on with his trademark truckload of spangly glamor and sugar-rush showbiz to the narrative of Elvis Presley with Austin Butler being the King and Tom Hanks as his manipulative manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Even though this film was out of competition, you should watch this.

2. The Natural History of Destruction

Ukrainian director Sergei Loznitsa comes back to Cannes for a special screening of his recent documentary, based on the book by WG Sebald related to the horror of aerial bombardment at the time of the second world war. This is a subject with a special sonority today. This documentary received a special screening at the 75th Cannes Film Festival 2022.

3. Crimes of the Future

Cannes usual David Cronenberg returns with his own long-gestating script, related to a future world in which people have to adjust to transhumanism. Growth accelerates, bodies develop new organs and human identities are in a manner of flux.

4. Joyland

Joyland is the very first Pakistani film to screen in the Official Selection category of the Cannes Film Festival 2022. The film marks the feature debut of director and writer Saim Sadiq. His other short film Darling took home the Orizzonti Best Short Film at the 2019 Venice Film Festival.

Joyland narrates the story of a patriarchal family longing for a baby boy to carry forward the family line. Not known to the parents, their youngest son joins a sensual dance theater and falls in love with the trans scarlet. Among the list of movies at Cannes 2022, this is a must watch movie.
