Toyota Innova Crysta: Bookings Open For The New Diesel Variant

The new Toyota Innova Crysta was known to be on sale besides its successor, the Toyota Innova Hycross. After a small break from the automobile market and clearing the way for the Hycross, the Innova Crysta is back! However, the car is now available with a diesel manual powertrain. It will be available in the exact same four trims – viz., G, Gx, Vx, and Zx. That said, the updated Toyota Innova Crysta is now open for bookings with a downpayment of ₹50,000.

The car is considered to be an affordable alternative to the Toyota Hycross. In the updated variant, it retains its 2.4 litres diesel unit and five-speed manual while losing the six-speed automatic transmission. As of now, the engine’s performance figures are 150PS and 343 Nm, but they may vary slightly with the updated version.

Similarly to the Hycross, the Toyota Innova Crysta has a revised front fascia for a bolder look. There will be an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and automatic air conditioning with rear vents. MPVs are equipped with seven airbags, parking sensors, vehicle stability control, and hill assist as part of their safety features. The standard layout is seven seats, while all variants, except the top-spec Zx trim, can be configured to seat eight.

According to estimates, the diesel-only Toyota Innova Crysta will cost Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more expensive than the petrol Innova Hycross. Although the Crysta is more affordable than the Hycross hybrid variants, it still offers a host of impressive features. The Kia Carnival will still be positioned below the Kia Carens but above both MPVs.
