The novel coronavirus second wave has shaken the whole nation. It created havoc in the whole nation. The government can not provide sufficient healthcare equipment thus leading to an increased number of cases every day. In this situation, the Indian Government has levied some Covid-19 travel guidelines for those who wish to relocate between states. In this article, we will be discussing those guidelines in particular.
Covid-19 Travel Guidelines
The ministry has asked the people to go through the state issues Covid-19 travel guidelines before planning to travel between states. Recently some states have made the RT-PCR test mandatory within 72 to 96 hours from the arrival of the train for passengers who are willing to avail of the train for travelling. The Railway Ministry Of India stated that this initiative has been taken to ensure that there is no chaos or hardship for the travellers.
What The States Have To Say Individually?
Here is a list of some states along with their Covid-19 travel guidelines. Let us have a look.
Kashmir
All the passengers wishing to travel by train have to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel.
Delhi
All the passengers traveling from Maharashtra by train have to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel. Also, these passengers have to stay in quarantine for 14 days from their arrival.
Uttar Pradesh
It is mandatory for all the passengers traveling from Maharashtra and Kerala by train to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel. Also, these passengers have to stay in quarantine for 14 days from their arrival. Also, Covid-19 tests are being done at the railway stations upon arrival to trace contracting effectively.
Chhattisgarh
All the passengers wishing to travel by train have to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel. If the travelers wish then they can get tested at the railway station upon arrival. In case they are found positive they will be quarantined for 14 days at a local quarantine center but at their own expense.
Chandigarh
The state government has asked the passengers travelling by train to get themselves registered in the COVA Punjab App if they have any plan to enter the union territory.
Himachal Pradesh
For entering Himachal Pradesh now, e-registration is a must. It is mandatory for all the passengers traveling from Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh by train to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel. Also, these passengers have to stay in quarantine for 14 days from their arrival.
Assam
It is mandatory for all the passengers traveling from Maharashtra and Karnataka by train to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel.
West Bengal
All the passengers wishing to leave or enter the state by train have to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel.
Rajasthan
All the passengers wishing to leave or enter the state by train have to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel.
Maharashtra
The Maharashtra Government has made it mandatory for all the passengers traveling from Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan, and Kerala by train to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel. Passengers who land at the station will be hand stamped and will have to remain home quarantined for at least 14 days. Other than that all the passengers have to go through thermal screening at the railway station itself. People who are coming in or going out of the station after traveling in trains will not be allowed to travel in local trains.
Karnataka
It is mandatory for all the passengers traveling from Maharashtra, Chandigarh Punjab, and Kerala by train to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel.
Kerala
All the passengers wishing to leave or enter the state by train have to produce a Covid-19 RT-PCR negative test result that has been done within 72 hours from the time of travel. If they wish they can opt for the test in the station as well. All passengers have to stay in home quarantine for 14 days from the day of arrival.
