Ingredients Of Mixed Lentil Pancakes

  • 1 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1/2 cup urad dal
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • salt as required
  • 1/2 cup grated bottle gourd
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chana dal
  • 1 piece green chili
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/2 cup quinoa
  • water as required
  • refined oil as required

Preparation Time & Serving

It takes 30 minutes to soak the dals, 20 minutes to prepare the batter and cook the pancakes. Thus, the complete procedure requires 50 minutes. It serves approximately 2-3 people.

Procedure

Once you are done with the preparation let us see how to make mixed lentil pancakes.

Step 1: Soak the lentils

First, you will have to soak the lentils separately for 20 minutes. Simultaneously soak the quinoa for a minimum of 30 minutes. While they are being soaked, grind some bottle gourd and keep it aside. 

Step 2: Preparing the batter

After the lentils are soaked add them to a blender along with the quinoa. Along with that add grated lauki, ginger, green chili, and salt and blend it well into a smooth batter. If needed you can add a few tablespoons of water to make the batter smooth. But ensure the batter is not watery. Take that out in a bowl and add black pepper powder and mix them well. 

Step 3: Pancake preparation

Next grease a non-stick pan with oil. Now pour one to two ladles of the batter that you have prepared on the Tawa and spread it well in a circular motion. Let them cook on both sides until they turn brown. 

Once done, repeat the steps with the remaining batter. And your mixed lentil pancakes are ready to be served. Serve it with sambar or achaar and enjoy.

  • Add pepper powder to it.

  • Grease a pan with oil. Pour 2-3 ladles of the batter and spread it in a circular motion. Cook both sides till brown.

  • Serve it with sambar or achaar.
